Questions
Questions people ask
Straight answers about how StanServe runs, bills and supports your servers. Anything missing, ask — a person replies.
01 Who will I actually be dealing with?
The operator. StanServe has no sales team and no tiers of account managers — the first conversation is with the person who runs the hardware, and the reply to any message comes from the person who will be on the console.
02 Where are the servers?
In British Columbia, Canada, on the same hardware that runs every other Stan Technology company. The workloads we host serve customers everywhere.
03 What does "managed" include?
Monitoring that pages a person, patching in maintenance windows, hardening, and nightly backups to separate hardware. That's the baseline on every plan, never an add-on.
04 How are backups handled?
Nightly, to separate hardware, and restore-tested on a calendar — a backup that has never been restored is a hope, not a backup.
05 How quickly can I be running?
Order on day 0; the machine is provisioned and hardened on day 0–1 and handed over on day 1. Custom dedicated builds are quoted in days, not weeks.
06 What currency will I be billed in?
Prices are anchored in US dollars and shown in Canadian dollars or euros if that's your region. The number on the card is the number on the invoice. Billing runs through Stan Billing — one client area for every Stan company.
07 Is there a contract?
Most plans are month to month and can be cancelled at any time; the few that aren't say so on the plan card (the CI/CD Pipeline has a one-time setup fee, and DevOps Scale is reviewed quarterly).
08 Do you charge extra for cPanel or Plesk?
Panel licences are passed through at cost. We don't mark them up.
09 How do I get support?
Write through the contact form or to our email. A person reads it and replies, usually within a business day. DevOps Scale and Route HA include a priority response window.
10 How do I know if something is down?
Every platform has a monitor on our public status page, hosted by Better Stack rather than by us. If the page and this site ever disagree, believe the page.
11 I'm not sure which plan I need.
Ask. Sizing advice is free and honest, and it sometimes talks people into a smaller plan. Pick "Not sure — size it for me" on the contact form.
12 Can you build something that isn't on the price list?
Yes. Custom is a conversation, not a premium — tell us what the workload needs.
