Your router sends it out into the world.

The blinking box in your closet gathers everything your home sends and passes it up the line from your internet provider. From here on, the message carries your public address — so the answer can find its way back.

Hop 02 · the last mile, reversed

Down the street, it becomes light.

At a cabinet somewhere on your street, the message turns into pulses of light inside a glass fibre — now travelling at two-thirds the speed of light toward the open internet.

It crosses the internet.

The internet is really a web of giant sorting stations. Each one reads the address on your message and hands it to the next station closer to us — a few hand-offs, done in the blink of an eye.

It knocks on our front door.

Nothing walks into the data centre unchecked. Attacks and junk traffic are turned away at the gate; your message is expected, and comes straight through.

It races through our private network.

Inside the building, our own network hands it downward — room, row, rack — with a spare path to everywhere in case one is busy. This part takes millionths of a second.

A rack like this holds forty-two slots of computers, fed by two power lines in case one fails. One slot is yours — not "the cloud", not "somewhere". This one, lights steady, message arriving.

Inside the server, the answer is made.

Your files and database live on the fast drives. The AI model waits, already loaded, in memory — and runs on the graphics chip beside it. The processors put your answer together, and it makes the whole trip home in reverse — before you've finished blinking. These machines are what we run for you.
